Getting into the middle of a domestic problem is always dangerous.
Their young son then went upstairs and knocked on the neighbor's
door, saying that his father was assaulting his mother. When the
neighbor walked downstairs, he saw Torres' girlfriend run outside. The
neighbor then confronted Torres, who tried to grab the boy, according to
police.
The neighbor said he ordered Torres to get on the ground,
but Torres charged him, police said. The neighbor then fired his
registered handgun.
