CA: Charges dropped for 19-Year-Old Woman who shot Stepfather
REDDING, California - A 19-year-old Redding woman charged with attempted murder and other related crimes in the Nov. 15 shooting of her stepfather saw the criminal case against her dismissed Tuesday by the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Kelly Kafel said the felony charges against Brittany Weatherbee were dropped because she and her office did not believe they could prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Additionally, she said, the troubling circumstances leading up to and surrounding the shooting made her office rethink the case.

Nov 17, 2014 - Police said 19-year-old Brittany Weatherbee was considered armed and dangerous after the shooting late Saturday at a home in the 3600 .
