South Africa: Private Security Shoots 1 of Gang that Shot Police Constable

A suspected robber has been shot dead and two people including a police constable have been seriously wounded during an armed robbery near Marble Hall in Limpopo.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Ronel Otto, says a police officer was shot in the stomach while trying to apprehend a suspect who was fleeing when his accomplices were robbing a cigarette delivery van.

Otto says the suspect was killed when security guards opened fire at the robbers.
