TN: 86-year-old woman grabs gun in self-defense, loses it

The theif is extremely lucky that she did not end up in the hospital, or dead. That is the common result. Having a gun taken from a victim is much rarer than being killed by lightning. Having your own gun used against you is a much smaller number than that. If someone is trying to take your gun, they are a deadly threat. The vast majority of them get shot.

BULLS GAP, Tenn. - An 86-year-old woman grabbeed a gun in self-defense when police say an intruder broke into her home.

News 5 sat down with this woman today and listened to her tell about the experience.

"loses it"? Where in the article does it say she lost the gun?

The article says she struggled with the intruder and got off a shot, when missed because the intruder had kneed her arm, but nowhere does it say she "lost the gun" as your headline implies...
