MONROE, N.C. -- Two men were shot in the parking lot of a Monroe
business early Friday morning and in a very unusual move, the shooter
called 911 and told the operator he shot someone.
(snip)
It appears the two men pulled open the shooter’s car door and pistol
whipped him, police say. He responded by opening fire. Both men,
24-year-old Jarvis Miller and 23-year-old Jermaine Blakeny, were shot in
the buttocks and they ran. One of the men was also shot in the arm.
They were transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and were
both conscious and alert when they left the scene, according to police.
