CO: Good Samaritan Faces Criminal Charges After Shooting at Suspect
A bystander, 25-year-old Avery Marquis Nelson, followed the robbery suspect on foot, chasing him through the shopping center lot and eventually catching up to spray the suspect with pepper spray.
Nelson eventually fired “warning shots into the air” with a handgun he had near the intersection of Iliff Ave. and South Fraser Street, and later shot “multiple rounds” at the suspect’s vehicle as he drove off, striking it.

I hope he does get convicted of reckless endangerment, he's a terrible example to every lawful gun owner.
I was raised with "never point or shoot a gun at something you don't want to kill". He apparently lives under the same misapprehension as the main character of Vonnegut's Deadeye Dick believing that if he aims at nothing he'll hit nothing.
His warning shots (in a city) are an idiotic dice-roll with other people's lives.
My policy is never fire warning shots. If I drop the hammer I am going to hit what I am aiming at. I know where that bullet is going.
