IN: Return Fire in Gunfight, no Injuries


The man’s 24-year-old girlfriend and their two children were in his vehicle, police said. No one was struck by the gunfire.

The man told police he returned fire with his handgun because he feared for his safety, Hoyda said.

well I see no reason to return fire if you do not hit something. I mean why waste the ammo. If you have to pull the trigger then make sure you hit what you need to hit. for myself I am fairly good at snap shooting, not actually aiming. but if I have the time to aim I'm not going to miss. they put sights on a gun for a very important reason. Learn to use them so you can hit what you shoot at. If you have been shot at return fire should be shoot to kill. wounded people can still return fire. the more effectively you reduce multiple targets the better your chances are.
