"Houston police said a home invasion suspect ended up hospitalized when he and his cohorts forced a resident into the closet where he kept his gun.

Police said three men kicked in the front door of the home around 2 p.m. Tuesday and attacked a resident who lives in the house with his parents.

The man waited in the closet until he thought the men had left and emerged armed with his gun, said Sgt. Jerri Brandon of the Houston Police Department. The man encountered one of the suspects downstairs and the pair exchanged gunfire."

Fortunately, the deadliest weapon in the closet wasn`t a pair of stiletto heels.

The homeowner was a responsible gun owner and not a Rambo itching to gun down the burglars. He waiting in the closet until he thought the bad guys had left. He encountered one of the suspects downstairs, the men exchanged gunfire, and the suspect got the worst of it.

The resident wasn`t hurt, and I`m sure he is thanking Jesus and his gun.

You don`t bring a frying pan to a gunfight, it`s imperative that you buy a gun to protect your home and your family.
