A Woodstone Street homeowner shot a suspected burglar during an attempted weekend break-in, police said.

The homeowner confronted the man and caught him as he fled, police said. The two got in a scuffle, police said, and the suspected burglar hit the homeowner repeatedly on the head.
As the suspected burglar fled, the homeowner fired a shot that hit the man in the leg, the homeowner told police. Officers determined the homeowner did not know the man and confirmed it was a burglary attempt.
