Brown and Pickens knew each other. Pickens sent Brown a photo of himself hours before the shooting.
Marcus Brown will not face criminal charges for fatally shooting a man in his home last year, 10th Judicial Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams said Thursday.
Brown, who owns the Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home in Anderson, told authorities that he shot an intruder in his Greenland Road home just west of Anderson about 2:30 a.m. on April 13, 2014. Leandus Pickens died an hour later at AnMed Health Medical Center of a gunshot wound to the chest.
