TX: Domestic Defense, Former Deputy found Justified in Shooting of Wife
An El Paso County jury on Monday acquitted a former sheriff's deputy of all counts in the October 2015 fatal shooting of his wife.
Nikolas Anthony Gianes, 32, who has been held in the El Paso County jail since his arrest the night Fawn Gianes was slain outside their Colorado Springs home, was to be released "as soon as practical," 4th Judicial District Judge Robert L. Lowrey said within moments of announcing the sweeping not-guilty verdicts on seven counts, including first-degree murder.
