At this time, the victim’s brother happened to be returning home and saw her running, with Vandever chasing her. When he saw Vandever with a gun, he retrieved his handgun, from his truck. Vandever fired at him, and he returned fire striking, Vandever in the leg.

Police say a 14-year-old girl was hit in the cross fire. The girl was shot in the chest, the bullet clipping her lung, but missing her heart. She is on a breathing machine but is expected to survive.
