AL; Domestic Defense, Woman Shoots Estranged Husband during Attack

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — A Jefferson County woman shot her estranged husband after he broke into her home and attempted to sexually assault her, according to the sheriff's office.

The woman told deputies she shot the man in the leg to fend him off and he escaped the Center Point home. Deputies later stopped the man on the 1900 block of Old Springville Road. He was then taken to an area hospital.
