AK: Owner of Small Dog Shoots Pit Bull that Attacked it

“The owner of the small dog attempted to pry the pit bull’s mouth open but was unable to,” Oistad wrote in a synopsis of the incident. “The owner of the pit bull then shot the pit bull to save the neighbor’s small dog and keep any people from being bit.”

Oistad said the pit bull was taken to a veterinarian and euthanized, but she had no information about the condition of the dog that was attacked. However, she did say police found no probable cause to support a criminal case.
