NY: Rabid Raccoon Attacks Dog, is Shot
A fight between a dog and a raccoon Saturday in Royalton ended with the dog's owner shooting the raccoon to death, Niagara County Environmental Health Director Paul R. Dicky said Thursday.
The raccoon later tested positive for rabies, making it the second confirmed case of a rabid animal in the county this year.
