Followup NH: Jury find James Lospennato Not Guilty of Reckless Conduct for Firing Gun
After brief deliberations in Rockingham County Superior Court, the jury found James Lospennato not guilty of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
The 72-year-old Lospennato was charged after an incident on July 1, 2018, in which prosecutors claim he threatened the safety of his Horseshoe Road neighborhood when he grabbed a gun, went to a nearby residence and fired several shots.
Public defender Philip Dreher argued Lospennato posed no threat when he shot four times into the ground to scare away the neighbor’s dog, which he described as an “out of control vicious menace” that terrorized Lospennato’s dog, Chrissy.
