The sheriff's office said Ham noticed the lock was missing from her
shed after hearing a noise behind her home around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
Ham asked her roommate to call 911 and then went outside to see if
anything was stolen, the sheriff's office said.
As she approached the shed, deputies said Brogden ran out of the building towards her, at which point Ham shot him in the chest.
