Followup TX: 1 of 2 Intruders Attempting Break-in Shot, Killed

UPDATE: An Odessan who was believed to have kicked his way into an occupied apartment during a home invasion attempt Friday night was fatally shot in the head by the resident.

Al McGruder, 38, was found near the front door of a unit at the Arbor Oaks Apartments in the 1000 block of East Monahans Street by officers who responded to a 9:44 p.m. call about a disturbance, the Odessa Police Department reported.
