AZ: Neighbor shoots Denario Thompson in self defense

Detectives from the Tucson Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Night Detective Unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation. They were able to determine that Mr. Thompson and a neighbor became involved in a verbal argument in the neighbor’s garage. The altercation eventually turned physical and during the altercation Mr. Thompson pulled out a handgun.

The neighbor/homeowner also pulled out a handgun and gunfire was exchanged.

Mr. Thompson was struck multiple times by gunfire. The homeowner was uninjured during the incident. Detectives spoke with the homeowner involved, as well as several witnesses who were at the scene when the shooting took place. From the initial investigation, it appears that the homeowner was acting in self-defense.
