Panama to lift Ban on Gun Imports

Note that the ban on imports is fairly recent, only two years old.  Panama has been more gun friendly than many South and Central American countries.

As Panama deals with increases in crime rates, forged gun permits, and rising gang activity, the government is set to lift the ban on firearm imports, in an effort to promote personal safety.

Public Safety Minister Rodolfo Aguilera said the country will follow in the footsteps of the United States and Switzerland, where the right to bear arms is believed to lead to fewer homicides.

Looks like it will be the old west for a while but the only way to get rid of the gangs and cartels is to wipe them out. If the government will cooperate and start putting up wanted posters, the entrepreneur bounty hunter will get rich.

"Old West"?
Yes, they said that here to.
It didn't happen!

The old west idea comes from watching too many western movies. If the western movies didn't have a lot of crime and shootings, the movie studios would have gone bankrupt and oug of business. No one wants to spend money on a western movie without crime and gun fight action!

Don't base the old west on movies and old stories writen down for readers on the old east coast.

Phil: I LIVE IN THE OLD WEST. As a Kid I knew many of the old timers. I have been there in fence and cattle disputes, with guns drawn.
