NJ: Only the State can Control Aggressive Wild Turkeys

New Jersey law does not allow residents to shoot animals to stop aggression.

Officials said they've received about a dozen complaints - and one police report - from residents reporting aggressive wild turkeys. The birds have attacked residents, pecked at cars and held up traffic. One has flown through a resident's glass kitchen window.

Town officials said only the state is able to touch the birds, but residents can humanely scare them away by using water hoses or making loud noises to assert dominance.

Only the rich.

Bid like a revolutionary: Simón Bolívar’s 19th-century pistols up for auction

Next week in New York, the auctioneer’s gavel will come down on a pair of ornate 19th-century pistols that tell the story of three generations of revolutionaries from three continents who shaped the Americas. The weapons were thought to be a present to Bolívar from the Marquis de Lafayette, the aristocrat-turned-revolutionary who fought in the French and U.S. wars of independence and was a personal friend of George Washington.

I think it might be a good idea to go back there and teach those people how to head and heel those turkeys and bulldog them into a large oven pan for a proper burial at 375 degrees and the right trimmings. this article reminds me of the time the game rangers here in Arizona told me I did not see a mountain lion. so I told them if it didn't exist they would not miss it, the next time I saw it. they got all excited and informed me of what the fine would be and how much trouble I would be in for shooting a mountain lion. a pair of lions had my children's scent and I saw both of them in my back yard. a month later the same ranger told me someone else had seen the lions so the rangers set traps and caught the two I described and took them out of the area. Lions travel in a 500 mile circle, they are hear again. In Arizona we have the right to protect life and property from dangerous animals. If the lions are not on the game reserve that is the rangers problem. if the lions do not exist they can not be missed. I do not feed the wild animals especially not my kids or my animals. If you do the right thing and make a report to the proper authorities and they insult you and laugh in your face???

FYI: Ohio

911 caller at Ohio Wal-Mart could be charged for role in fatal shooting, judge says

CINCINNATI — A 911 caller who reported a man waving a gun in a Wal-Mart before police fatally shot the suspect and found he had an air rifle he took from a shelf could be charged with making a false alarm, a judge ruled.

Fairborn Municipal Court Judge Beth Root ruled this week that there was sufficient evidence to show Ronald Ritchie could be prosecuted for the misdemeanor stemming from the Aug. 5, 2014, police shooting of John Crawford III in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek.
