LA: Domestic Defense Father Defends Familly, is Wounded, All Survive

A Luling man armed with a pistol, a Molotov cocktail and two gasoline cans fired about 40 gunshots early Tuesday (Aug. 2) into a house where his estranged wife and her parents were staying, authorities said. The woman's father, who returned fire, was wounded in the chest.

"The bullet did not penetrate his chest cavity," Champagne said. "The projective went through a wooden door as well as a sofa, so fortunately the velocity of the bullet had been damaged to the point that it wasn't traveling at full speed."
