MI: Homeowner Wounded, Invader Killed in Gunfight
Police said a suspect forced a woman, the homeowner's girlfriend, who was outside of the home in the 19000 block of Liberal Street at 12:30 a.m. into the home at gunpoint.
Inside the home, gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and the homeowner.
The homeowner, 46, was shot twice in the chest. He was taken to St. John Hospital, and is listed in critical condition.
The suspect was killed at the scene, police said.

I've seen it on the map years ago, never been there, didn't know Ithaca was there either.

If this homeowner had been unarmed, both he and his wife would probably be dead. The thugs that invaded their house obviously meant business and were not shy about using their weapons. Thankfully, it appears the homeowner will be ok and maybe the other thugs in that Detroit neighborhood will think twice before illegally entering a stranger's home.
