When women attack a man in a domestic situation, it is common for the woman too use a weapon.
Police said the boyfriend told them he allegedly acted in self-defense and is cooperating with investigators.
"The shooter then returned to the scene, claiming to be the person who called (police). He claimed he was attacked by this woman and another woman who were both armed. He (said) he defended himself with a firearm," Sgt. Steve Staletovich said.
Meanwhile, the woman was taken to Eskenazi Health Hospital in fair condition.
