NC: Man shot after following Couple for Miles

The vehicle continued to follow the pair for many miles all the way into a residential neighborhood. Cochran stopped his vehicle at Charing Lane and Plott Drive.

According to police, there was then an altercation in which Pittareli was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
