NEWPORT, Ore. (KATU) — Police are investigating the scenes of two deadly incidents in Newport. One scene involved a man shooting another man who was allegedly in the process of stabbing a third man.
Later, police found a fourth man stabbed to death at a second scene just a few blocks away from the first incident.
The investigation began just before 1 a.m. on Friday when the Newport Police Department received a 911 call to a home on Northwest Grove Street near 13th Street about a block west of Highway 101. The caller told police someone was pounding on the door to their home. When they opened the door, they saw a man actively stabbing another man.
