CA: Gun Beats Machete on Indian Island
The shooting occurred sometime before 12:29 p.m., when it was reported to police. According to the EPD release, the resident returned home to find the suspect sitting next to his house. He then told the suspect he was trespassing and demanded he leave the island.
The suspect, whose back was to the resident, stood and faced the resident. With a bottle of liquor in one hand, he raised a machete with the other, advancing toward the resident and verbally threatening him.
The resident fired two rounds from his handgun into the suspect’s torso, which stopped the suspect’s advance.
