GA: Off-Duty Deputy Steps into Armed Robbery, Stops it at Gunpoint

“The deputy was confronted with an armed robbery in progress,” King told The Union-Recorder in a telephone interview from the scene. “He exited his vehicle. The clerk was able to get out and run away from the store. As the two perpetrators attempted to leave the store, he (the deputy) fired a single gunshot.”

The deputy managed to hold the robbery suspects at gunpoint until other deputies and officers with the Milledgeville Police Department could get there and render assistance.
