Gun control at work in Britain
"Ban everything" does not stop the deaths
A father-of-two 'in the wrong place at the wrong time' was killed in a suspected drive-by shooting that also left a woman fighting for her life.
Police have launched a murder investigation after the man, named locally as Erdogan Guzel, 42, was gunned down in front of a north London bakery.
Paramedics battled for over an hour to save his life but he was declared dead at the scene in the busy Lordship Lane, Wood Green. The female victim remains in a critical but stable condition at an east London hospital.
Scotland Yard confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in connection with the fatal shooting.
Imam Sumbul, a friend of Mr Guzel's cousin, said: 'He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. 'The bullet was not meant for him.
'There is a big Turkish community here, everyone uses each other's shops. As you can see, a lot of people here are interested in what happened and want to know what went on here tonight.'
Mr Sumbul added an incident had happened just last month where a gunman tried to open fire but failed to discharge his weapon before fleeing.
