BAYTOWN, Texas – One burglary suspect was killed and another was listed
in critical condition after a teen watching over his grandmother’s
Baytown home opened fire on them, police said.

The teen told police he ordered the two men to put their hands up, but
they didn’t listen. He shot both men with the shotgun. One collapsed and
died at the scene. He was later identified as 40-year-old Charles Allen
Dixon.
The other suspect, identified as 26-year-old Michael
McDaniel, stumbled around and ran away. He later turned up at the
hospital in critical condition, police said.
Detectives have no doubt that this was a case of self-defense.
