PA: Reading - Shooter was Acting in Self-Defense According to DA

 

Adams says they have identified the shooter, and that he is cooperating with the investigation.

"He did come into City Hall, provided the police with a statement," Adams said. 

The DA says based on video evidence, Steele was armed, and he believes Steele was the aggressor.

"Clearly, this is a situation where self-defense may be the appropriate resolution of this incident," Adams said. 

Glenside Elementary School was placed in SECURE action due to police activity.

The district said in a statement that it will provide assistance and resources to students who may have witnessed or been otherwise impacted by the shooting.
