The homeowner, Cooper’s ex-girlfriend, told police she had been out with her boyfriend, one of the shooting victims. When they returned home, she went to the restroom. When she came out, she could not find her boyfriend but saw Cooper lying in the driveway.
She told police Cooper did not have permission to be in her home and that he had been stalking her for the past two weeks.
The boyfriend drove himself to the hospital for treatment. He told police he walked through the kitchen toward the bedroom and was ambushed by gunfire. He said he returned fire in self-defense but was not sure who was shooting at him. Cooper was struck several times.
