BATON ROUGE – Police have identified the man they say was shot and killed while trying to break-in to a home in Baton Rouge Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Carr Alley. Baton Rouge Police say Anthony Gordon, 40, was killed after forcing his way into the home. Gordon was confronted by the homeowner and shot during a struggle over the weapon. He died at the scene.

District Attorney Hillar Moore told WBRZ News 2 that the shooting looks to be justified.

What a lot of people do not know is that after the slaves were freed at the end of the civil war our government made it possible for Blacks to return to Africa with free passage. some left some stayed. we have no responsibility for them that stayed. freedom of choice and they made it. the blame is on their ancestors not us. being a criminal is not a racist issue it is a personal choice. I'll help any one that needs a hand up but if I find that hand in my pocket I'm just as happy to cut it off. If you have dignity, Honor and Integrity you can make your own way in life, only bad laws make criminals out of good people. everything else relies on the choices you make.
