The homeowner answered the door with a gun in his hand. It is a common precaution taken for unexpected visitors at 3 a.m. Then the deputy shot him. A lawsuit may be filed against the county. Show released security video of the event.
Shaw was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony for brandishing a handgun at Peach County Deputy, Brandon Williams in May 2016.
But Friday evening, after only an hour of deliberating, the jury acquitted Shaw.
