KS: Neighbor Shot while Attempting Break-In

Alfredo Campa-Vazquez, 25, of Topeka, attempted to enter the house at 7233 SW Glencrest Dr. around 11 p.m., the Shawnee County Sheriff said. He was hit in the leg, and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputies took Campa-Vasquez into custody on a charge of aggravated battery. The homeowner in the altercation has not been identified, and the sheriff said the ordeal is still under investigation.
