CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An alleged armed robber is dead after being shot and killed by a store clerk, Chesterfield County deputies say.
On Saturday, Dec. 28 around 8:47 p.m., officials responded to an armed robbery at the Highway 9 Mini Mart & Tobacco store at 28495 Highway 9 in Pageland.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased black male with gunshot wounds.
The store clerk stated to sheriffs that the suspect had entered the store, put a gun to his head and demanded money. The clerk then produced his own handgun and fired multiple shots at the robber, which was confirmed by the store’s surveillance video.
