Armed Home Invasions (not simple burglary, but an overwhelmingly-rapid influx of perpetrators in an attempt to overwhelm/overpower residents) are one of the fastest-growing property crimes in US (source: multiple websites). I know. I was a victim of this once.

Some criminals have adopted tactics of th4e Police-State to lure homeowners into letting their guard down. It is unfortunate for LEOs that many homeowners will instead 'arm-up' and take the following action if they hear anyone beating-down their door, regardless of shouts of "Police":

" ... if in doubt, shoot first, then ask questions afterward ... "
- General Jack D. Ripper (portrayed by actor Sterling Hayden), "Dr. Strangelove ...", movie 1964, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057012/quotes/qt0454469.

C'mon, why would LEOs break-down a door in the middle of the night (or day), instead of first peacefuly and politely knocking, and displaying a valid search-warrant?
