According to a Monday update, the investigation revealed an argument escalated into a shooting when the offenders began firing at a vehicle occupied by the intended victim and others.
Police say one person inside the vehicle was armed and returned fire in self-defense, but did not strike the offenders.
As the Violent Crimes Unit and patrol division continued their investigation, the investigation developed information identifying a vehicle of interest.
