According to Capt. Ben Miller of the Lincoln Fire Department, Washington
and a 34-year-old male family member had a series of altercations that
ultimately led to Washington being shot. The 34-year-old called the
Lincoln Police Department, and when officers arrived, Washington was
given CPR and transported to a local hospital. "Based on evidence
recovered at the scene and witness statements, investigators are working
to determine if the 34-year-old Lincoln man also in the apartment was
acting in self-defense. He has cooperated with law enforcement at the
scene and during follow-up interviews," police said.
