The shooting was reported at about 7:30 a.m. She was initially listed in critical condition after being taken to the hospital, but the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office later said she was stable.
Deputies said another woman involved in the shooting was taken into custody and questioned. After speaking with her, investigators determined the shooting was justified as self-defense, and she was released without charges.
