During the investigation, detectives determined the man was breaking into a home when he was shot, Locklear said.
Godwin-Falcon Fire Rescue and Cumberland County EMS also responded. Emergency personnel requested a medical helicopter because of the severity of the man’s injuries, and firefighters established a landing zone at Falcon Children’s Home.
