Natchez Police officers responded to 96 Hunter’s Lane after an altercation had reportedly escalated. Natchez Police Chief Lee Best told The Natchez Democrat newspaper that the victim was shot after allegedly forcing his way into the residence.
Emergency medical services transported the wounded man to Merit Health Natchez for treatment. While the exact extent of his injuries has not been released, officials said the victim was conscious and able to speak with officers following the incident.
