HPD said the man then presented a knife and refused to put it down, according to hospital security. Police said that at least three security guards tried to talk the patient into putting the knife down, but that he refused.
Guards said that when the patient became uncooperative, they used tasers on him to get the knife away from him, according to HPD. Authorities said that the suspect did go down after being shocked, but eventually got back up and reached for the knife again.
