Neighbors' ring doorbell cameras caught the crimes on video.
"They were going from car to car. One person would stand at the car trying to break in. The other one would point a gun at the house just in case anybody came out," Carr said.
A neighbor said he fired two gunshots at the ground in his backyard, hoping to scare the young criminals off.
"It sounded like boom, boom, boom," said Michael De Long.
"The group of car break-in suspects fired multiple shots at an individual," said Mitch McCoy, a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
