Officers went to a third-floor apartment, where they interviewed a 31-year-old man, his wife, and their 2-year-old child. The family reported that the suspect had broken through an exterior door, tried to enter multiple units, and eventually reached their apartment. The suspect allegedly began yelling and kicking at their door.
According to the family, the father gave several warnings before the burglar forced the door open. The father then fired a single shot through the door, striking the suspect in the leg.
