The baby's mother, who was in the pickup truck, explained they followed the sedan to exchange information after the crash.
She then noticed someone coming from behind a home with a gun in her hand.
Crime Insider sources say a woman in the truck was yelling, "I've got a baby in the car, I've got a baby in the car," but shots were fired anyway.
"I was screaming, 'It's a baby in the truck,'" she told CBS 6. "She passed the gun to her boyfriend or whoever he was and he started to fire at the truck. I crawled out of the passenger seat and grabbed my child and started walking down the alley."
A man in the truck returned fire, hitting the person in the sedan in the leg.
