When authorities arrived, the woman, with her children, met officers outside and said that she shot her ex-boyfriend, who was still inside.
They located 28-year-old Christopher Duran inside who was unresponsive and was taken to a local hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
According to preliminary information from police, the Duran and woman had recently broken up and he had forced his way into her home.
