During an initial investigation, police learned Major met the teen to buy a ring he posted for sale on OfferUp. While completing the transaction, authorities said the teen pulled a handgun and robbed Major before running away.
Police said Major had his own gun and shot at the teen, hitting him in the leg. The teen shot back, but did not hit Major. Several homes were struck by gunfire during the incident. For the Castanon family, multiple bullets tore through their home, getting dangerously close to the family of four.
"This one could have hit me," said Alfredo Castanon, who pointed out one of two bullet holes in his room.
