On August 11, 2025, just after 11:00 p.m., Garland Police officers responded to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male inside the apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Garland paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
Detectives determined that a female resident was inside her apartment when she was confronted by her ex-boyfriend. The female reported that the male, who did not live at the location, entered her apartment without her consent.
During the confrontation, the female shot the male. Detectives learned that the two had previously lived together and had a history of reported disturbances between them.
Over the past several months, the female reported these disturbances to the Garland Police Department. Each was investigated, and two of those reports led to the male’s previous arrests for assault family violence, and stalking.
The female is cooperating with investigators, and no charges have been filed at this time.
