Investigators said Britton and another man got into an argument at the Sheraton Place apartments, before Britton allegedly pulled out a gun and started shooting: hitting three people.
The 65-year old man he was arguing with was wounded, but was able to tackle Britton who was than shot by a 62-year-old woman who picked up his gun, according to investigators.
Police said two others who were shot were innocent bystanders and were not involved in the argument. They were a 64-year-old man with a gunshot graze to the cheek, and a 70-year-old woman who was shot in the ankle.
The 65-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his right armpit and abdomen, officials said.
